If you have an iPhone 42 and ask Siri what is the best smartphone no doubt it will NOW answer with “Wait, there are other smartphones!”.
Quite recently; until the answer was spotted by Apple engineers, Siri answered with the Nokia Luma 900.

The Lumia 900 hasn’t sold as many units as other smartphones, so by logical reasoning it is easier for it to get the perfect review.
After that story spread around the ‘net, it appears that Apple went in and changed Siri’s algorithm to fudge it so that it would tell the user, in its own way, that the iPhone 4S is the best or the weird answer of “there are other smartphones”.
Not surprisingly, Nokia isn’t happy. A spokesperson from Nokia has been quoted as saying, “Apple position Siri as the intelligent system that’s there to help, but clearly if they don’t like the answer, they override the software.”
Will Apple now start to override all other non-Apple responses ?
How, in this day and age where we rely so much on software/firmware, are we still being challenged by such embarrassing software/firmware bugs ?
